The HSBC Young Entrepreneur Challenge is a business plan competition for full-time tertiary students from local universities, colleges, and education institutions. This programme aims to encourage entrepreneurship and business creativity among students. It is also a competition that provides teams with a practical knowledge on how to start their own business, and the opportunity for personal and skills development.
Since its Malaysian debut in 2001, more than 2,800 students in Malaysia have participated in the competition. Participants will have a chance to learn how to write successful business plans and sharpen their presentation skills.
The Malaysia competition will take place between March and July 2012. The three most commercially viable and creative business plans will be awarded the Gold, Silver and Bronze award respectively.
The Gold Award winner will also have the opportunity to represent Malaysia to compete with the other Gold Award winners from participating Asian countries in the Regional Final for the Best of the Best Award and the Asia Technopreneur Award in July/August 2012.
As part of a cultural enrichment programme included in the regional competition, the Gold Award winners will also be invited to attend an entrepreneurial tour in Hong Kong after the Regional Final.
